Who We Are
Montezuma Community Economic Development Association (MCEDA) is a composite of investors comprised of Governmental entities, Businesses, Organizations, Partners and Individuals who are all committed to creating a stronger, regenerative, wealthier, diverse cluster of communities and a resilient local economy in Montezuma County.
We understand that rural areas have unique and diverse communities where one size does not fit all and that the challenges, needs and assets vary from region to region. With this knowledge MCEDA is committed to business retention and expansion, the development and enhancement of a strong, relevant and skilled workforce as well as attracting new jobs and businesses.
What We Do
MCEDA is Focused on Building a Community-Based Economy
Montezuma County has an abundance of community wealth that is derived from our existing assets that include: increased energy efficiency, healthy and regional food system, strong agricultural base, land conservation and urban development strategies. One of MCEDA’s primary objectives is to increase the strength of a solid, growing and expanding local economy! Strong, local, businesses mean local dollars working in our community. Join MCEDA today and be part of building a community economy!
MCEDA hosts a breakfast meeting every quarter for all its investor/members. Enjoy a networking session with coffee and snacks from 7:30-8:00am, followed by an update from the MCEDA board and the latest economic information at the local, regional and state levels from 8:00-9:00am.
Interface with other like-minded business leaders and government officials and hear presentations on economic topics and from local entrepreneurs.
Our Economic Summit each April hosts cutting edge presenters, roundtable discussions and break out sessions to topics relevant to our 4 corners area.
Meet other business professionals in the region through these and other events hosted by MCEDA.
Whether you want to expand or re-locate your business, we are here to provide all the resources you might need for a transition.
Our resources, partners and associates will make it easy for you to get the data, permitting and space to make your business a success.
Additionally, we can pull together key planning departments, governmental and community leaders, from mayors to realtors, helping you through each phase of your business re-location or expansion.
MCEDA has connections to the resources any business might need.
Looking for ways to increase energy efficiency? Financial partners or business loans?
We’ve got that.
State incentives, tax credits and Enterprise Zone information? We’ve got that too!
We may not have every answer, but we know people who do, from local, state and federal partners.
In partnership with our investor/members, institutions, businesses, governments and residents, MCEDA works to uncover under-utilized local assets, promote and support locally owned companies, coordinate opportunities to increase local procurement by our institutions, support families and individuals in linking trainings to employment and better wages that ensure greater economic security.
